  5.  Grant produced book cover art regularly in the 1970s, then took a long break
  6.  in  advertising when the market  seemed to dry up before  returning  to  the
  7.  field.  The new paintings are in general less violent in their imagery, with
  8.  a more pastoral feel to the scenery.  There's also less nudity in his female
  9.  figures.   Grant puts this down partly to the change in the attitudes of the
  10.  people.

  12.  All of  Grants  paintings  are executed  in traditional  oils,  unlike  many
  13.  commercial artists  who prefer acrylics  because their speed of drying helps
  14.  to speed up  the production of  paintings, he much prefers the slower drying
  15.  qualities of oils.
