²Melvyn Grant¹ - The Fantasy Artist (Continued)
Grant produced book cover art regularly in the 1970s, then took a long break
in advertising when the market seemed to dry up before returning to the
field. The new paintings are in general less violent in their imagery, with
a more pastoral feel to the scenery. There's also less nudity in his female
figures. Grant puts this down partly to the change in the attitudes of the
people.
All of Grants paintings are executed in traditional oils, unlike many
commercial artists who prefer acrylics because their speed of drying helps
to speed up the production of paintings, he much prefers the slower drying
qualities of oils.

the book "Dream Makers", published by Paper Tiger.
